I have made an image I like in PS 6.1, and I want to cut the image (only the image, not the background) and paste it to a background image in Paintshop 7. I converted my image to a .gif...how do I select my image only so I can cut it? Here is a link to my site so you can see what I'm talking about....the current text sucks, IMO and I want to replace it with a better one, but keep the same image. |

Uhhh, couldn't find the .gif, so I assume (ouch!) you mean the .jpg. If you want to seperate the images in the .jpg there are certainly many diferent ways to do it, so I will tell you one way. You could use the square marque tool and just set it to the size you wish to have (either manually with pixel size, or by hand, by 'stretching' it over the area you wish 'seperated') and then klick inside the marching ants and select copy layer. Bingo. If you mean seperating from the background white, just use your magic wand, set the tolerance to,say, 30, and klick on the white. Should only mark the white areas. If not, fiddle a bit with the tolerance. Then delete. Hope that helped. |

Magic Wand generally works. |
