Hello everyone, my name is Will (or William), and I just registered. Um, I am not new to this message board because I have been following it from the day I got Photoshop 4, just on and off. At this point in time I am attempting to design webpages...but I am not to good at it because, well, the time that is needed just isn't there. On a good note, I love Ozone's site(s) and adore the Gurus Network. Ok, on to my question.

OK, for my site collective that I am currently designing, I was trying to acheive a techno yet realistic look to my images. I then decided the make a grid, on which I had read many tutorials on in the past. Simply enough, I made a new image, new channel, selection of 10x10 pixels, fill with white, contract by 1 pixel, delete, expand by 1 pixel, nudge up 1 and left 1. Then I set that selection as the pattern, went into my image, new channel, fill with pattern, then selected the layer and loaded the channel. Then I realized that my grid was broken. The grid LOOKED ok, but when zoomed in to anything over 100%, I noticed a 1 pixel space between each of the 'L' shaped lines. What is wrong? I am currently using Photoshop 5.5 (6 is on the way) and I can't figure out what I am possibly screwing up! Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks!

threep ignores billiam's method, knowing it would only confuse him, and prescribes his own:
"1) open 9x9 px image.
2) put a cross in it - every pixel that is 5 px down, every pixel that is 5 pixels across.
3) select all
3) edit> define pattern
4) go to/open new image, bigger this time.
5) edit > fill > your pattern.
6) tell me if anything goes wrong."
then, finally remembering his manners, he says:
"oh, and welcome! hope you enjoy your stay!
...and don't worry, im the only freak here who talks like this on a regular basis! "

Welcome to the Asylum Billiam!!! By the way steve, I don't think that threep broke with convention, if you look close, the last comment is inclosed in quotation marks, meaning its from the part where 'he says'. So I guess it's still in the 3rd. Or was I asleep in english class? Can't remember...what say u threep? U comin' out?

Cool, thanks. I tried out that method and it worked perfectly! But now I am sad because I guess I can't get Photoshop 6... Oh well, 5 is fine for me...
