hey guys, I'm try to create a projected text look. I need the words "on location" to look like they are projected from a film projector or something like that were you would see beams of light shining towards the text. i would appreciate any help you can dish out. thanks

Not much help right now, but you may be able to pull the action apart and come up with a variation.

Er.... What type of film projector are you trying to create?....

An old type of projector or like the new ones?

An old type would have just one beam of light coming from the projector, But an new type has three colors red, blue and green.

To create the beams of light there is loads of ways of doing it. But try this..

Try white lines then use the transform tool <edit-transform> Play around with it to get it just right where you want the beam to come from,
then use 3 or 4 layers of the beam (the layer you have just made) With screen or overlay on top of your main image that makes it look like the projector is showing a film. Play with it using filters like the blurs and and the noise.

To get the text looking like it's been projected use the blur and noise filters again and make it washed out a bit and have film grain in it (If it and old projector).
