I'm assuming you mean the football.jpg since that's the only picture I see on the site and I can't read the text.

The first thing you want to do is run the filter->sharpen->unsharp mask to sharpen the picture up a bit more. Once you've done that, you'll want to run image->adjust->brightness/contrast to clean up the color a little bit.

ok.. first thing you want to do is to set your overrall highlights and shadows values using the Levels Command. The photo is badly discoloured (due to ageing) and reestablishing a white point and black point in itself does a great deal to improve it. I suggest using an adjustment layer whenever possible when editing like this. Makes future edits easier and also you can delete the adjustment layer at anytime.

Next you want to adjust the overrall colours. Again, using an adjustment layer, create a curves adjustment layer and work on your colours.

Finally you want to carefully use a sharpening method. I chose to use the unsharp mask filter. Applying this filtr directly to your image is not always the best way, so I recommend investigating your channels and selectively sharpening within your channels.

<note>
btw.. glad you took down your original site. Your apology seems sincere, hence I reposted this for you. Ripping other peoples stuff is not a good habit to get into... on a side note.. the site you replaced the original one with is extremely heavy on the graphics side (file size) you could do a lot more optimization to help with DL time.. hopefully that is your work </note>

very smooth?.. I don't really understand what you are asking?

You do not have to apply a sharpen to the whole photo. You can selectively shaprpen certain areas by making good clean selections. Isolate the areas of the photo that you want to modify.

The version I did I applied the modifications to the whole photo, thus the edges are washed out. There is alot more work to be done on that particular photo.. the border of the photo for instance needs work and the colours could be better imho...

like I said.. not really clear about your comment about 'smooth'? ~Vp~
