I am going to say it again, I am a newbie to all of this, so dont be to hard on me, but what do you think of this pic?

Very nice piece for yer first graphic, but i have a few things to comment on:

1: i see yer name in the bottom corner, and this is the sig forum, so is this a sig? if so, its WAY to big.

2: dropshadows, can be your freind if used tastefully, the shadows on the 3 boxes i like, but not on the symbol, i would try to find another way to tie it in with the page,

3: the burnt edges came out very nicely, but they would be much nice if they were transparent, if you not familiar with GIF's, check out the Hand's On link at the bottom of this page.


Other than that, i like it a lot! i really like the Cryonix text in the bottom corner, maybe u could do sumthin with that for a sig? who knows. keep up the good work, C ya round.

I like it a lot. I like the style and the blocks are a great idea. I like the shadow..it's bold and just shouts. Then again....as el_Grande stated, it can be your friend or enemy. It's too big if it was going to be used for sig.

I really like the look of it... what great new work

The shadow of the sign isnt a dropshadow, but a duplicate of the layer, anyway, I changed it a bit, I made the sign from chrome, at least I tried...

you could try blurring the drop shadow a bit. Phong.com has a very good drop shadow tutorial if you wanna have a look

I liked the first one a lot more, so my comments will be directed to that one.

Besides what's already been said, there are major jaggies on some parts of the symbol in the center. This is especially jarring becuase the rest of it is so smooth. I'm surprised the jaggy police haven't posted yet (you know who you are... ).
Also, I think the top and bottom boxes should have more interesting "shots" of the main pic.

Other than that, it's very nice and a good piece of work.

Personally I like the second one and I changed the jaggie thing a bit there...
