Preserved Topic: Plea for Help Doc I am pulling my hair out (Page 1 of 1)

Iam desperately trying to find the method that the proffessional designers use to create a collated image that has many images contained but each image is semi transcent but create a nice blend when combined. I hope this is clear enough. The image is the same technique that Adobe use on the first page.

The effect I am trying to achieve is many transparient images and 1 main image in the front with rollovers.

Can you suggest a tutorial (or several)

I understand it will need layers

but how do I reduce the level or solid colours for my background pics????????
