whoa there Mr Keen! do your images need to be jpgs?.. will gif files do?.. generally... photographic type images do better using jpgs, wheres as line art, images with few colour with harsher transitions are better suited to gif... |

it does the same with gifs and pngs........so no it doesn't have to be jpegs but that was just an example |

well then refer to JkMabry's answer.. your trying to compress to much out of the image.. also check your monitors res and colors... |

This only applies to Flash. For general HTML yes of course you need to optimize. But Flash will do a pretty good job internally, so it's best to start with something uncompressed (png works for me) so Flash isn't compressing an already compressed image. |
