I've read in a few places the best way to the best quality in an image is to work on it at 144 pix then resize once you are finished. My questions are, is this a good idea? If so, what is the best method of resizing?

I do all of my work designed for screen at 72dpi, with no re-sizing. If I need to keep printing in mind then I work at 300dpi (or higher!) The illusion of crisper graphics after down-sizing is just that, an illusion. If you did sloppy work at 144dpi and then made it smaller, then it would look better, no doubt. If you want truly professional results, then details matter, and you want to work at the resolution that it will be viewed at. My 2 kronor!

Doc, ..just for my edification, education and clarification, do you mean no resizing in resolution, dimensions, or both ?
