tell me what to do different and keep in mind that it can only have 256 colours.

Thanks

it wouldn't me for halflive/counterstrike would it? I think its very realistic looking and will fit nicely on a low poly model

I prefer to use a gray/neutral background for such things. Pure white or black can wreak havoc on perceived colours when 2D painting a skin. Much easier to judge colour usage and shading with a neutral background.

UT, eh? I playing with 3DS Max right now working on some outdoor stuff for UT. Just some basic things.

Work on straitening out your lines. And making everything a bunch smoother.

Then kill all the shadowing on the white sections, and use shading on the actual gun, the green areas.

This would make things look much better IMO.

The other thing I am wondering about, is what program you are using, for some reason I do not believe it to be PhotoShop... if it is I can give more advise.

If not, specify and we might be able to give more advise for that.

I dunno, seems real dark and lacking in detail to me. Is that a game thing, or is it my monitor ? The shape is great, but I`m only seeing the outline and a few dim highlights on he handle and body at the top of the clip. Am I missing something ?

~sneers contemptuously at evryone but warmage~

Are those shotgun shells? If they are they should be brass on top, plastic on bottom.. never seen a stripper clip for a shotgun tho. But wait, there's a banana clip underneath so maybe those are supposed to be grenades? Kinda dark but I'm not sure if the ut engine provides lighting for these things or not.

I hear my flak canon calling.. look what you started.

Are we going to have to start an Asylum UT clan? Or at least get together some weekend for fragtastic mayhem? I'm all for some CTF, Multi-CTF, Jail Break, Eavy Hunter, or Team DM. Maybe even some Roger Wilco tossed in.

Edit: Okay, I couldn't help it. Just had to play with it for a bit. Check it. I didn't bother too much with extration because I was just fiddling. So don't mind the white jaggies or the ball with a hole in. All I really did was add two Layer, then some Dodge, Burn, and Smudge. And I didn't really understand a lot of the geometry because I don't have the model, so the shading on some parts will be off. Just a quick, unfinished hack. Even with the little I did, major difference from the original.
