I found this little program while surfing www.minefields.org and I think it will come in handy for alot of ya.

If you already have it or know about it already then, well.........ok

This program allows you to see the LONG, HEX and RGB at any Location of any colour on the screen.
I tried it on my WinAmp skin and was able to get every color.....kinda cool I think.

A word of warning regarding Size-O-Matic (also available on that page). I have used it a long time ago and my ZoneAlarm caught it trying to contact developers web site, which is not a good thing (privacy infringement)...
