Preserved Topic: new masters of photoshop (Page 1 of 1)

i bought this book the other day, its on amazon at http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1903450624

i was wondering whether anyone had seen it, what they thought... like what is a master of photoshop? its a really good book, really on the artistic side and gets right under the skins of the people writing, some of whom are pretty damn impressive and interesting. Just wondered how you'd come up with a title like that, how you choose who are the new masters? anyone here get approached? i reckon there must be some serious talent round here who must have heard about it as it was getting made....

I would not call those abstract pieces of work masterly by far. I would look at the things done by Dark Garden, and Weadah far more masterly, than anything else.

well, yeah i'd heard of cina and young from k10k and stuff, but there are loads of people here who were new to me, really talented designers, and not all of them name sites and agencies so i though some peeps might have just been found on forums and stuff

i love the cina, young and karlsson stuff its all good. there's loads more though, the crankbunny chapter's amazing, i love that site its so spooky and atmospheric. quite simple ideas to create the images but just so effective
