Hi, I'm creating a gif image (using PS6) for my humble little page. There's one problem, though - my page has a dark background, and my gif file is sphere-shaped, with transparency around it. When I place the image on a white background, no problem, it seems normal. But, when I place it on a dark background, it gives me white strokes around the circle. I guess it's coming from the fading areas around the circle. Is there any way I can make the circle fade out smoothly in dark AND light background? Thanks in advance! |

This is what the gif file looks like: |

generally speaking it is not easy to create a trans gif for both a light and dark background. (esp if the edges defining the trans areas are soften/aliased). |

there are several different ways to achieve this, personally i would select the edge of the image and CONTRACT by 1px, and INVERT the selection and delete . this may or may not help you, depends on the resolution you created the image in. |

Or, you could output it as a PNG-24 rather than gif and not have to worry about it (well, outside of your visitor having a browser that supports PNG files)... |

OK, thanks guys. I guess my only option is to create some sorta dark-version and light-version. But, I really appreciate it Thank you so much! |
