i am trying out doc's tutorial on glass but on the second step when you put the selection on a channel, are you suppose to fill in the selection or not? i think i can handle everything else but that is trippin' me up.

*giggles*

Oh come on now be helpful .

*giggles again, slaps himself*

Right I've just read the tutorial and I would try using the magic wand tool on the circle then, then press Shift,Contorl and I that should invert the selection or just select the white around the circle. So now you have a selection out side of the circle, then a mask it then in the channel panel there is a mask layer (this is what I think your confused about). You do not really need to use the channel panel at all for this tutorial, becuease the mask should be next to the working layer.

If you don't know about masking try to find a tutorial on one, sorry I'm to tried to find one for you.

If it does not help maybe some else can help .

Darkshadow - umm.......what?

Very simple: select the shape of the circle that is on your layer, save that selection as a channel. Then you blur it to use as a depth mask for the lighting effects.
