Hello is there any action for Photoshop that'll create nice seamless textures for web page backgrounds out of selections/images ??

Also I am looking for small (200 bytes or less!) but neat web page backgrounds. I have seen a few of such neat files but haven't seen a good site for such kind of backgrounds.

Any help would be appreciated much! Thx!

ok, if you have photoshop 6 you can use the technique that petskull linked to (which is also in the WOW book series) or an easy to use, quick and dirty, hands off, let da computer do all the work, little control technique is to:
1) open photo
2) click on 'Jump to ImageReady' (at the bottom of the tool bar)
3) in ImageReady, click FLITER > OTHER > TILEMAKER
4) click 'Blend Image' with a 10% and click 'Resize Tile' (fiddle with settings)
5) click 'Jump to Photoshop' (again at bottom of toolbar)
6) happily save the image and enjoy the tile.
7) if your not happy (and after a day of doing nothing but this you will be) then use the offset technique that Petskull linked to.

Like most things in life, there is an easy way and a hard way, and the best results SOMETIMES comes from how much work you put IN to it. Best of Luck!

Cheers!

I dunno... I find it *very* theraputic.....

also....while I am playing with the background, I'm basically deciding which way the page is going to go, know what I mean?

might work on it being darker, lighter, have a wider variation of hues.... stuff like that.... It really does drive the page...

edit: great.... I'm leaving whole fragments out now....
