Or, more to the point, texture libraries.

I'm not referring to the little tiled images you use for your web page backgrounds, more so the high resolution photo realistic textures.

I've come across a few gold mines of photo-real texture libraries in my time but have since lost all my links. Of course, no matter how hard I search I just can't seem to find any decent resources.

I could splash out and ~gasp~ purchase one of those professional quality texture libraries that many of the professional 3D artists use but well, Their really expensive and I don't think I'll ever need any where near that many textures. At rare times it's just handy to have a few sites to browse through.

Don't underestimate the power of a camera and a scanner. Maybe a digital camera, but I prefer scanning. Scan big and operate -- you know the drill.
