ok i need an oval for a pixelated painting (k10k style).
the oval should be a circle that is perspectively scaled to the right by exactly 45°.

any ideas on how to get that? (besides calculating the pixel coordinates)

thanks a lot!

Go to the Channels Palette.

Use the marquee tool to mark out your oval.

Fill with White.

Rotate 45 degrees with transform. (Edit>>>Transform>>>Numeric for version 5.5 or less, Edit>>>Transform>>>Rotate and change the angle in the options bar for 6.0 and above)

Go to Edit>>>Adjust>>>Brightness and Contrast and set the contrast to +100

Select and fill the channel on any layer.

Done deal.

or you can try Filter--Pixelate--facet.

do you actually mean jaggies on the edges, or do you mean like seeing the pixels as a pattern within the shape?

That webpage you ref, has a pixelated pattern.. err

::edit:: oops, meant facet! heh

Works best with grayscale images.

thanks dg, it worked out!
actually i found out that if you uncheck that smoothing option when creating selections you dont even need the channels.
vp, yes i mean jagged edges. and yes, k10k uses a little anti-aliasing sometimes.
mahjqa, what? treshold? whats that in german?

It's between equalize and posterize, it's the third one from below, you should get a dialog box that resembles the 'levels' dialog box.
