It uses them to handle the large amount of data that is associated with big Images. They should be set on the fastest harddrive possible. That drive should not store the windows swap file, which is used for a similar purpose by windows. The reason PS has it's own is that that way it can optimize a whole lot more. so long, Tyberius Prime
