Preserved Topic: trying to make rounded graphics to connect a header and side bar (Page 1 of 1)

I am new to this forum and kinda new to photoshop. I made a webpage with a header and a sidebar and I am trying to make a small graphic in the left corner to give it a rounded effect. The ones I have seen before look like a 90 degree angle with a curve on the inside. I hope this make sense. I have dowloaded a sample and tried to just change the color but the edge gets distorted. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Edit: Guides can help out with this a bit. If you drag two guides onto your document you can just make the selection from center and snap it to the other shapes. The illustration shows this a bit better..
