I did a few mods to a friends pickup, but, due to the quality of the photo certain parts got washed out.

My question is whether the flame job would get washed out as well, or would it reflect the sunlight differently and show up ever so slightly?

And, of course, comments and criticism are encouraged.

Probably depends on the particulars...how drastic the color variances are, whether the flames were painted on or done with some sort of decal, what type of paint, etc...but I would say that overall, they would wash out more or less just like the rest of it.

Yea, I agree. With the sunlight that strong, most of it would disappear in the reflection.
A little shadow and highlight on the flames would go a long way towards making it look like a real flame job. ou know, the way they air brush the edges ?

Silence:

Well there's one huge issue I have right now....the building through the back window has been warped to hell.

Now I understand that you wanted to chop the top, and slope it to give a sleeker look to the truck, but man, that skewed perspective has really messed things up. It's the first thing that caught my eye unfortunately. Try masking out the window shapes in the back so that the verticals are still...vertical and then skewing the rest..it's more work but it will make a huge difference in the feeling of realism.

Aside from that, the advice you've gotten so far is solid. Listen to them.

Just a couple nips and tucks..nothing pretty, but better than a five paragraph explanation

Just for ideas and what I "saw" first.

DG, that is exactly the look I was going for. I hadn't realized that the image through the window had gotten so skewed, and changing the bumper keeps the entire left side from looking completely washed out.

Okay, so on the version 2 checklist:
- bumper
- background seen through windshield
- flames (shadow/highlight and some displacement)
- rims (whee)

Thanks for the comments guys.
