Remember those pictures that I shared a while back, the inked ones, well, I got around to painting them (of course, buying a scanner didn't hurt either). Anyways, I scanned one in, after just getting a new scanner.

Character1

(I didn't realize that it was still at 200dpi, I reduced it to 72 , and the filesize is now ~150k. Sorry bout that.

I know there's a warning and all - but shouldn't it at least be a link, CFB?

It looks good, but there's a few things that jump out at me right away. I'm not sure if it's how you wanted it to be though - but I'll name them off anyway. His right (our left) arm seems way short. Like it were cut into thirds, and one third was removed. His head is in the same fashion. But that was the inking part, so I guess I digress.

As far as the painting itself goes, you've got a lot of color there. I like it - things stand out and attention is drawn to them. They also help as far as the character's "grunginess" is concerned. I see it and I think "GTA3"

Ok...Here we go, I just got around to scanning the other three pictures into the computer. Whew, this is a nice scanner: Microtek 4850, $100, 2400*4800 dpi, 48 bit color depth. It prints (on my printer) exactly what I scan! Highly recommended! Anyways, here they are.

Character 1 ~154k
Character 2 ~164k
Character 3 ~183k

Hope you like them, C'n'C would be appreciated.

You have a very distint style working here. I have to say I am kind of liking it.

I would however sugest you do more work on the images. Raptor pointed out that your proportions are off. Raptor is quite correct. Those issues need to be addressed.

The image I am getting from your paintings is a sort of Science-Fiction a sort of Cyber Punk theme. But you really need to add some more depth to the pictures, I would also like to see some of the angles smoothed out a bit. You backgrounds are nice, and I could see you backgrounds drawn as you draw your characters, but I think your characters need a bit of a pop.

Character3 in your second volley does seem to be alive, as your other characters do not really portray much personality. I think your color choice for the female could should have followed that of your other 3 drawings, as I really liked the emotions those colors brought out.

For right now I would really like to see you clean up the pencil marks, and put in a little more detail to the pictures (I.E. the necklas in character 2). You really have something starting here, I want to see it developed more.

WarMage: Thanks...I'm working a lot on anatomy, using "Dynamic Figure Drawing" (Pointed out by DL-44) as a reference. I'm working with my next character in the series (Needed 5 characters) and taking more time pre-planning. I'm trying to get a clearer line before I ink, as well as spending more time developoing anatomy. I'm fairly proud of my new character, though.

Anyways: No, they were not my personal best, partly because they were for the most part drawn in one class period, then painted in the next. I'm working more on not rushing .

The reactions I got from two diffrent sites, eatpoo and concept art:

ConceptArt.org

1. The anatomy is a little strange
2. I'm developing a style that they (apparantly) like (the loose inking, which I find funny, since it was a pretty big crit here)
3. Dont draw people by starting with a face
4. Like the coloring
5. Work on anatomy

Eatpoo

1. Work on anatomy
2. Don't rush it, they look rushed
3. It's a start

----

Anyways...Thanks WM

Aha! Final charcter: here ~50k

Just wanted to see if the anatomy was correct (you know, check here, or if there were any specific crits) before I enlarged and inked it...That means just cut me down, I want some hard-assed critisizms on the sketch!

I`m no anatomy expert, but the first things that stand out are the bent right forearm, the left shoulder muscle is a bit large and the difference in the legs seems to indicate a stride of 12 feet or a peg leg.
