Preserved Topic: Speed Painting - your off hand (Page 1 of 1)

The hand you paint/draw with? Paint the other one, it's not doing anything, it'll be still for you, I hope. Oh, nad claw it up or something, I don't wanna see a bunch of Thanksgiving turkey hands.

1. You have approximately 30 minutes (try to limit differences by 10 mins, give or take) to do a sketch/painting/model, digital or traditional of the supplied topic.
2. Time dedicated to scanning, uploading, saving, etc, is NOT counted towards the time it takes you to do your entry. Just the time you spent creating it.
3. You can submit as many entries as you want.
4. Much like the monthly sig competitions, the previous winner decides the next topic and the next winner of said topic.
5. Speed painting topics will last for approximately a week.
6. Have fun! Obviously there's no way to tell how long you *actually* spent making the image, so this thing runs on an honor system.

Ok, I took care of that extra joint, which I hadn't seem before (stupid me ), anyways: I love that one, Ezra-D, the texture is just perfect!

thanks, yours is good too now that your rid of that extra joint it reminds me of communism for some reason the red on the stark white and the gesture of the hand, very nice

cfb: 7 min is very respectable and personally I think it's the funnest hand that is on this thread. As for your red hand I'd say it's a close contest between you and JKMarby. (he started the thread so I dunno if he's still allowed to be the victor)

the attempt at realism that the rest of us tried has little chance against you two in my opinion.

so if we are tallying up votes yet. I'd say CFB off hand thumb up for either drawing.

edit: good choice funkshun! tho ezra-d and DL's rocks, bigyou's got props for the cramp pose, phyrehazard just plain freaked me out with that severed monkeys paw, Michael's hairy bananas, funkshun's ET rendition, SWEET stuff! fenja and insider have been disqulified for generic turkey like poses and big cloud was pushin it, but I can picture a few neat things in the pinch so... all in all, fun.

Nice! umber 2 strikes me as wrong but I know full well how deceiving an awkward hand pose can be optical illusions abound

yeah, number 2 was a little tough. Had I given a better indication of the surface on which the hand was resting, it might make more sense. The index finger is actually flat on the surface, the thumb and middle finger are only touching on the tips, the pinky is not touching the surface, and the "missing" finger is simply not visible in it's currrent position.

The first one sucks all around.

I don't know DL...I've been sitting here for about 4 min trying to get my hand to look like #2 there. I can't do it.
I don't believe your cockamamie story about "the surface on which the hand was resting". I think you're not a real person, but a cartoon.
Anyway, nice job. I dig #3.

keep in mind also - the arm is only at a slight angle, almost parallel to the chair (which is what the "surface" was), and the wrist turns down perpendicular to it.

We can officially label that one "failed" now I guess

DL, it took me about 2 seconds to get my hand to look like number two, it's hardly failed.
