Hey all I have this design here that I think it okay in and of itself however I am drawing a blank for ways to arrange the content on the page.

Any ideas or comments would be appreciated.

Oh yeah don't worry about the navigation I'm still working on the code for that.
thanks
mike.

I'm not sure I understand the question. The content of the page you have there looks fine, with the photos and descriptive text swapping sides as you go down.
What kind of content are you needing to place on the other pages?

Re: the site itself, it looks quite professional. I don't like 'scanlines' myself, as the optical effect gives me a headache, but I realize I'm in the minority on that.
The only quibble I'd have is the text on the link buttons. It looks too low, by about a pixel. Even though I know you designed it to look that way, my eye sees it as a 'mistake'.

well.. First off, fantastic design. Very clean, uses space quite well. I enjoyed just that one screen. The colors are very easy on the eye, so I approve of that.

Now for the news you really want to hear (but don't want to admit you do).

The options, while nice, don't convey what they actually are. The roll-overs bring down what looks like a pull-down menu, but they're not links. So, it's immediately confusing to the viewer. He/She will want to click on, say, "Fixtures" under the "Bathroom" heading.

In terms of design, clarity is of utmost importance.

I'd go without the outer-emboss on the address information on the top-right corner--lends itself to being a little less than legible. You'd be just as good to keep it clean black text, especially since you're working kinda small there for a header.

I guess the last concern would be a design based one, but not sure how to phrase it diplomatically.

Quite frankly, the design lends itself to something techie, something cutting edge...you know the style, you see the style. This is a kitchen and bath show-room web site...it really doesn't work together.

But, if the client is happy, I'm happy.

Nice, though. Very nice and clean.

nice bit, I like it.

what could be changed?

the text I think could be pixel smaller or so, kinda big for the rest of the page I think. Also, the "pictures" actually starts a few pixels below the top of the "images" because of the frame, but the text starts at the top of the "image", which makes it appear somewhat off, does that make sense?
I think if you put in a
before the start of the text it would look better.
Other than that I think the way it's layed out is just fine

The design itself looks really good. I dont really like the colors all that much though. The banner looks fine but everything below looks a little dark to me. Also I dont like either backgrounds you have there, the solid blue or the scanlines.

I know the navigation isnt finnished but I think you should ease up on that bevel. The only other thing I dont like is that border you put around the images. Besides that its a great layout ...

I really like the design and I'm sure your client will be pee-his-pants-happy. But there a couple of things to pick on. DL mentioned the text alignment and I'd definitely agree,
to set it down in line or a little lower than the top of the actual pic. The frames around the pics are out of place, maybe if they mimicked the "showroom" bar graphic (or go with the more transparent feel of the main banner and let the "showroom" thing seperate them). There's also a couple of "fixture Phantoms?" under the 'and' in Fixtures and Faucets that I can't make out and it's driving me nuts trying to see them. What are they?

Those drop downs are gonna be awful cool too. The coolest, most futuristic, terminator firearm type plumbing site I've ever seen. You're good but you didn't need me to tell you that now didja? Who said you couldn't get your ego stroked around these boards?!?!

Thanks for the comments guys!

Here's what I am planning for now. I think I will drop the font size down a bit, I am not sure whether to keep the bold or not I'll have to see how it looks in a smaller size.

I'll play with the glow on the address as well. I added that because of all the stuff behind it the text got a bit washed out but there may be another way.

The frames around the images is going to definately be reworked. I like having something there because it blends the picture into the page a bit but I think this one is a bit to bold.

In terms of the colors and the "techie" comments Those elements really actually work with the setup and design of the store itself in terms of color and style its very dark and chic (as well located in the Silicon Valley) so I think those elements translate well for the actual location. I personally don't like the blue too much I think it's a little bland (which is why I tend to dress it up with the "scan lines") but it's the theme of the store I wanted to match.

JK those black things are actually 2 large carats ">>" in some strange font that I originally had over where the Logo appears, they happened by accident and I really liked them so I kept them. Unfortunately I got into the design a bit too much and forgot I had to put the logo and stuff over the top so you can't really tell what they are anymore (but then again they didn't have any real significance anywaty)
