Preserved Topic: Need your opinion on this.. (Page 1 of 1)

I am working on the layout for a new site. It will contain a portfolio and news for clients. I was wondering if the layout looks OK, and if it is not to dark. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Edit: I have changed it a bit. Does anyone know of a good dhtml scroller where one can use a scrollbar, not just up/down arrows?

the image looks fine for me.
maybe you'll have some contrast problems
for you content because of the black dots in the background. you gonna use dhtml-scrolling?
i don't understand what you mean with "om meg" and "priser" but nevermind i'm not that good in english to understand all.

and don't know what you'll do with the big round thing which look as a huge button.

I did'nt expect you to understand the text. It's norwegian. The round thing in the nav-bar is going to have a mouseover, or maybe something made in flash. Haven't decided.

I like the layout alot.. but.. I think it could be a bit too dark... if you brighten the whole thing a bit I think it will bring out some of the details and look a lot better...... but I do like your concept!

I thought the same as you at first, but when you see it against a dark background, it's quite different. All the text will be either white, light grey or orange, and that will create more contrast, i hope.

cool.. try and repost it when you have a little more finished... would be interested to see it... some dynamics would work well also.. as in roll overs etc... less is more though!!

Ok, I've added a mouseover and a scroll. Pretty much finished the layout. What do you think?

i think that's the first time i've seen the design.. from glancing at it real quick though, i'd venture to say i like it. =P

if i were you, i might try and make a little more prominent title for the page where is has your name.

for some odd reason, the scroll bar always seems to reload when i pull up the page.. but none of the other elements of the page. that's not bad, just annoying.

and finally, i'd slap some (( onfocus="this.blur();" )) onto your button links, so you don't get that pronounced outline whenever you click on something.

all in all, i like it.

As soon as I get Flash, I am going to make a cool mouseovereffect on the wheel below the buttons. Other than that, the layout is pretty much finished.
