I think we ought to start this over, I noticed some people that wanted in, and the forum getting wiped presents a perfect opprotunity.

What does everyone think of starting over and letting some more people in?

even though i'm not participating in the contest... i think you guys should wait a day or two before resuming, just let the forum problems sort themselves out first.

hrm, i kinda wouldn't mind participating in the .sig thing myself though... *shrug*

alrighty, i say that any person should just jump in and make a sig for somebody if they want in now... I made 3 sigs for F1, a sig for Steve, and a sig for Weadah...

I'm workin' on yours eyeazer. I just don't have tons of time all in one go. It's being built little by little.

I did a quick one for Human Shield. Nothing is final, but let me know what you think human.

I also like the glass effect on your X... what did you use for that... was it curves or KPT or what?

I used kpt 5 and eyecandy together. You should get Anders Quivickers CD. There is some cool tutes in there. He had some glass and chrome tutes I couldnt resist, so I bought the CD.

Knowing the eyezer like fire I had a hell of a time coming up with something fire related that was orginal. This is a little big for a sig, but what the hell.

fire tut? i guess it is still in my head. I asked the question of how to make a "light Zapish effect" and then that turned into fire... i believe i say something about the fire there... http://www.ozones.com/forum/Forum3/HTML/000290.html

the color of the fire is all in the background color you have.. if the color is to red then you wont have any orange in the picture.. if it is too orange then it will be way bright. i think i use something like this, 146/55/20 for r/g/b.

Draw white on a layer / change the layer to color dodge / Blur it alot.
Draw white on another layer....
(It is good to have a lot of layers)
oh, and have fun making it transparent if you are doing gifs...

Hmmm, I dunno 'bout the fire, that's a cool shape though.

well... um... that looks kinda gooie... It is a neat pattern... hopefully you were trying to make a pattern and not fire... it also looks like you have a white layer there set to something other than color dodge... very ah... interesting... could be a sig?

The technique is rather cool, might be useful for certain styles of interface, like for something that's really fantasy-ish or happy futuristic you could make beams or wires or floating things that glow.

hmm... i just noticed that i have not said anything about HS's new sig.... maybe that is because i am scared of it...the puffy eye.... those big thick pink eyelids... that huge green, ah, green part... the torn bloodless skin... the clear superimposed plastic letters.. huh? plastic letters??? well... it almost sounded too good to be true.

Vogon... you referring to Sloloem's sig for Shiizzzaam or my sig for Sloloem? Heh.. for a second there I thought you thought I was him with that sig.

Sloloem... it's not really any new trick, but it's just a quicker way of making the shiny plastic text look that I read in a new book on PS that I got this weekend.

Heh, thanks on both counts. Unfortunately the glass letters are supposed to be RED, but I screwed up and have to fix that tonight.
