Preserved Topic: Here's a design I've done trying to get back into practice. (Page 1 of 1)

It's be a while since I done 3d cause I have been working for clients and I had this time to practice this one to show. It's not all done but, I thought it was something to show and get back into it.

Thanks guys...I will be using textures on the metal designs from now on...just getting back into it is all. Been working to much in 2d for clients that I almost forgot how to do 3d.

I think you need some criticism on this one. It's cool looking, but I think it pales next to your previous 3d work... probably because u are just getting back into practice. Anyway, overall it seems a little blurry too me, the sharp definition of say, your homepage, is not there. The parts that I really dig are the pill buttons which do look very sharp and have that Mac OS X Aqua-ish hi-lites, the green disk sticking out the right side, and the greater variance in lighting from some of your other work.

Maybe I just don't like it because it doesn't serve any purpose, and so all the little details seem pointless. If it at least looked more like an actual device of some sort I think I'd be more impressed. Anyway don't take my criticism too hard, because i only say those things in contrast to your other work.

Hey thanks for the comments. Jiblet, I understand...it ws just something put together at the spare of the moment to see what I could come up with. I will have it back soon I know...it's been a while. I been looking around and looking at some of my work and others and see what I need to do. Thanks for being honest and letting me know cause it only helps in the end.
