It sucks! Thats what I think, naw just kidding. Its alright, fairly creative. The images could all be better, especially the rollover ones. The borders around those images could be a little thinner, and a better graphic for the circle thingy could have been used.

thank goodness you said "new page", not "new site".
its a really nice idea, but i have to say this - an appaling use of space.
i suggest that instead of making your target="new", you do something else. here are a few ideas:
1) make target="_blank". that way, it never replaces the existing page, and always bring the page you just clicked on into focus. currently, if i were to open one page, go back to the home page, and click another, it would change the page in the background, and i may not notice. this is probably the easiest option.
2) in reality, there is hardly enough content to justify popup windows anyway. you should try to open a nice page in the current window that shows all the poems, pictures, personal info, or whatever.

back to the site/page, having links to the directory indices looks really dodgy. a nice page (with thumbnails for the images, for example) for each section would be real good.
- also, those poem pictures are way too big.
-oh, and if i may try to define better graphic myself, i would say this - that blue circle with the yellow arrows is the focal piece for your site. maybe you should spice it up a little. how? well, that's up to you.

First of all, I must say you need to copyedit your text throughout the site. Check spelling and punctuation. For example: on the home page hoby should be hobby. No big deal, just be mindful of that.

In my opinion, the home page needs some type of title announcing what the site is all about. Simply put, there is no site identification readily apparent.

I agree that the main graphic on the home page needs ... more. It's decent looking right now, but just too plain to be a central piece to the page. On the other hand I love the idea of little info boxes that pop up as you mouse over the different parts of the circle.

Maybe it is just my computer or my access to the site, but the only other page I can pull up is the "Individual" one. The three others just pull up an index rather than the intended page.

Certainly better than what I was doing at 15. I dig the pop up boxes, maybe round the outside corners of them just a bit and they'd be perfect.

There's always a debate about how the web should be used, but I believe in every page having a purpose. Your main page serves to link to other pages, but there is nothing there without the rollovers, and that goes against what I feel the web should be. Web Sites That Suck.com calls that mystery meat navigation, I tend to frown on it.

Good start, but it does need work. I'm not connected at a high speed or anything, but your page loaded VERY slowly, cut back on the file size a little. Also, you said "define better graphic", I would suggest this...
- Make the disk in the center thicker, clear, etc... almost like a glass disk that is rounded on the edges... check out Doc's hands on glass tutorial...
- The background of the page is slightly different than the background of the image, I can see the edges...
- If you do a glass effect on the disk in the center, you could have the four arrowy-things inset into it.
- I think it would look better if it was centered on the page.

PS.. popup windows make me run away!
