Okay. I've tried to clean the text up, and I just can get it to look right. So I need to redo the type. If someone could tell me what font this is, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Looks suspiciously like 'Garamond' to me. Bold for the word Sheriff and Normal for the michigan word. Obviously it has been trnasformed a bit also!

hope that helps

its definately not garamond, it has very wide characters. only font i could come close to for the word "michigan" was new baskerville, and even that wasnt a very good match. i have nothing narrow enough to be compared to "sheriff"

ya its definately *not* garamond.. silly me!.. sheesh.. I should just stick to mopping...... not to say that I didnt mention that it could have been *****TRANSFORMED***** or manipulated a bit from its original type?.. ~sigh~

mental note: get glasses fixed and stick to mopping in future: this graphics stuff is obviously a bit beyond me.

Sorry Pugs for making such a stupid guess.

i pulled these off of a cheap $10 font cd and these were the closest i could get out of 1200 fonts.

the bodini font is still a bit wide, and even in "black", the lettering still appears a bit fine in certain areas.

in the tycoon font, the serif curves upwards/downwards instead of being level. the other thing wrong with it is that the font is too tall. in the original font, the "c" comes much closer together at the ends, the "a" crosses much lower, and the bar on the "g" is much higher. out of my entire font pack, this was one of 10 fonts where the lines for the "m" were exactly vertical. most serif fonts have a slight slope.

Pugzly, never knew you are from Michigan as well. Greets from the Lansing area.
