After a few months of doing tutorials and looking at resources on the web for photoshop, i made my first page. This is my first page ever with my 'own' created graphics and lay-out, and i think i did a pretty good job

One minor thing of my site is that the intropage doesn't suit very well with the subpages, but that's something to think about... or to get suggestions for

One problem i came across while creating my site was with the tables on the 'about me' page. Somehow the bottom cells of the navigation bar don't fit against eachother in IE5.5 . It looks good in NS6, but IE somehow does something different with it. I created this page with a combination of imageready and dreamweaver, and dreamweaver displays it the way it should be. I really don't know how to fix this, since im not a pro in html (yet ) . Maybe someone can point me out the problem? Thanx in advance

wow! the graphics are great!
i like the ladies in the background!

maybe you should try to preload the rollover-images. otherwise the visitor has to wait til the image is loaded when he does the mouseover....

keep on the good work!

Looks very nice!
I especially like the flames you did around all that background work. Congrats! That one could become a great portfolio

The about me page shows up with some out of wack placement of the images, the portion where the names of the buttons appear.

Fix that, maybe make the nav a bit easier and away you go.

yeah, that a problem that i can't fix I guess ill have to re-slize everything and put it in a table again, i don't know any other solution. The reason this problem isn't in the photo album page is because everything is one table there, i changed the about me page so that the navigation doesn't look messed up if you changed the fontsize in your browser.

I like it

But I think the graphics is a little bit to "unsharp".

I had the same problem with my tables a little while back, and I can't beleive WarMage didn't say something to you!! Anyways, on your first table, the end looks like this...

<td colspan=2 height="2"> <img src="images/about_me_07.gif" width=71 height=28></td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>

Try changing the very end of that chunk of html to this...

</TABLE></TD>

I've found that any space between the end of your TD elements and the closing tag usually tend to put some spacing in there. I've seen it on a couple of other parts of your html code as well, but they probably are not noticable because they don't contain slices.

Hope that helps,
-D

Ok, just attempt to get rid of the space between the <td> <img></td>

It should look like this:
<td><img></td>

no spaces in there at all.

make sure it is all on the same line with no spaces. That should help you out a bit.

sorry actually thats pretty sweet for a first try! one thing you could change would be the color of the text links. on your about page it's just the standard blue.

anyway ignore my crazyness
great work!

Textures are pretty nice. The graphics arent bad, although I don't overlly like the navigation. More sections?

i could add more sections, there are plenty of polygons left, but ill have to skip the 'intropage' cause that one is just made for just 2 sections. I also don't know what to add. And if i put more sections in it, the site will be larger due to all the mouse-overs, and the 'balance' in the navigation system will be gone

Maybe the navigation is is not that user friendly, but since there are nog that many sections the visitor can find out every section out in a jiffy. Anyway, i tried to create something original and i think i did pretty well on that (for my first try).

Ill hope to get my re-slice work online asap. although i encountered another prob.

But as we say in dutch:

quote:
Waar een wil is, is een weg

what means: if you really want something to be done and you put much effort in it, you will succeed. (couldn't translate it directly cause of my lack in english )
