I sold this for 70 bucks (35 per hour) about a week ago... Quick job, and the client liked it, but I'd like to get your guyses opinion of it. Note that the Enter button won't get you anywhere (It's passworded for private access right now, too go live soon I hear)
Anyhoo, without further ado, I give you The Leap Frog Magazine Intro

it looks like a decent candidate for "mikey's reasons that flash isn't that cool."

now that i'm on a cable modem i can't judge load times, but i have a feeling if i was on my old dial-up i'd be wondering what all that was for.

it's there, but why?

i'm glad your client ate that up and paid you 70$ though, that's always nice.

k... Uh, it's 23k. That's about 8 seconds on dial up (I'm on 24k, so I know.)
Why not be there? It's a splash page, just as any page might have. It increases intrest in the website and incourages potential customers to keep clicking. It also comes with a skip button, just incase. By all means I think it was worth 70 bucks, if not more.

encourages potential clients to keep clicking?

keep clicking past the part that doesn't need to be there because it's hindering the delivery of actual information and content?

i see.
