1-does the blue have to be so dark on the 1st page? do you really want the viewer to not be able to read the black type?

2-since i am only a 56k modem guy i am not qualified to respond because the url is too slow at this speed...i am sure everyone else on a T1 has a very different experience.

I like the animation, both the rollovers and the page changes.

The page title seems wierd - "base". Shouldn't it be "FigDigital" or something?

The logo bugs me. The lowercase "d" in "digital" ends up so distorted (from being partially composed of the "g") that I just want to reach out and fix it. Personal opinion, of course.

Doh, updating the page title as i type. That's what i get for uploading at 4am, thanks Das Point taken on the logo, response has been mixed so far. I personally like it but we'll see what others have to say.

countryboy, good call on the blue, that may be dark on some monitors, I'll lighten it up a bit. Not sure what to tell you about your connection though because the site is not big/high-bandwidth at all, the main Flash movie is under 40k and the biggest movie that's loaded other than that is about 80k. Shouldn't be a problem on any connection other than about a ten second wait, you might try hitting it again (maybe the server was lagging when you were there). Thanks for the comments guys...

I liked the site quite a bit, nice attractive color schemes. wasn't really speedy even on my t1. I have to agee with das on the logo though. At first glance it looked to me like it read Fig gligital. It took me a bit to figure the g/d thing. Also, maybe the three areas are a bit too dark when they do not have the focus.

I really dug your biz cards. damn those were/are nice. did they print up as nice? if so how much (ballpark) did they run? or did you do the printing yourself.

overall I liked it, though I am sure you will here from the anti-flash contingent about flash being the sure sign of the apocalypse.

Well, I'm going on about 4 minutes here.....and it's still loading.

......ok, just about 5 minutes total for the main page to load for me - perhaps a server issue, but I've found that with flash sites, the size of the movie can't be compared to other files' sizes....they just seem to plain take longer, regardless.

so....5 min.....ouch! Had I not been going specifically for this purpose, I would not have stayed.

That aside.....
- the logo is definaetly confusing. Concept is good, but it needs a bit of tweaking. Rollovers are nifty, but they seem a bit bland. I'd suggest trying to find a way to add interest to the images above the text.

The 'page' transitions are sweet - I love them! My only suggestion there would be to make the header area a darker shade of grey than the rest...just as a focul point, ya know? Maybe even a gradient?

hmmm, 56k 5 minutes passed and I've checked the entire site. Weird stuff. Anyhow I'm gonna echo DL's sentiments there almost to a T. Little bland, I've seen other stuff you've done that's a little more exciting but I do like it and I figger most people would too. Something that is buggin the bejabbers out of me? The black lines are aliased, that just doesn't sit right with me and I can't make the thought go away.

You make me wanna buy Flash everytime you post a really dynamic fast loading site like this...

Well, on the loading stuff I really have no idea what to tell you guys, all I can say is that I guess the server has had probs today. I just checked it and it loaded with no probs on a DSL connection, though I noticed it was slower earlier this evening. If you've had problems you might check it again (it's now 11:20 central time) and see if you're still having 'em.

Thanks for all the comments guys, much appreciated. This was a bit of a rush job, needed to get something up for potential employers to look at. I do plan to keep it for a bit and do some tweaking before changing it out completely. Glad you like the transitions, there's some more I'd like to do with em if I have the chance. Point noted on the top sections, I'll take a look at em and do some tweaking there. Same on the logo, I'm gonna have to sit and play with that when I've got the time.

wcr one, the KAIROS cards (assuming those are the ones you're referring to) came out gorgeous, better than I expected actually. We printed them with CopyCraft and they were excellent, we e-mailed them the zipped PSDs on Monday and had the cards in the mail by Friday. We did four different names of 500 each, front side full color and the back b/w, full bleed both sides, and they cost us somewhere around $500 total. If you're interested I can post the back side of the card as well.

JK, don't know what to tell ya on the lines If you've got the urge dro by macromedia.com and grab the Flash demo, it's fully functional for 30 days. Any questions drop me an e-mail...
