Just wondering if this is just "TOO" plain?!? I went with a total CSS style instead of tables. Very limited in color and graphics. If it looks funky let me know as well. I know that the logo looks like shit with K-Melon, but hey...

I know it needs more, but I would like some input before I go any futher. Thanks.

Looked fine here (Mac IE5). And I think you may have answered your own question. The alignment of things is what's bothering me. I don't know a whole lot about web stuff BUT...the header graphic either needs to extend the length of the paragraph text or end with the navigation set of text. It's bothering me. I actually like negative space, maybe you could do a version of the logo kinda flipped in the lower right corner to draw the eye across though. Just my thoughts. Good start I think. Keep us updated on what you end up with!

Eh. It's lacking. Need's more... something.. I don't like light blue and white either but that's just me.

I basically like it, BUT... You don't appear to be using browser safe colors -This distracts
in your case from the overall effect you are trying to achieve with the "C:\" thingie.

use the colors for your graphics, fg/bg described on this page.

hmmm.... i like where you're going.
"too plain" could be a valid comment.
my only suggestion would be to go with a colored background, or something...
oh, and the c:\news> needs to be animated with the flashy bit...
c:\news>
c:\news>_
c:\news>
c:\news>_
...get my drift?

...and yeah, i think it has a pretty poor use of space in some aspects...but then white space is so important.... agh! good luck to ya!

It's nice and clean, but yes, a bit too empty I think. Perhaps a vertical line between the content and menu, and/or horizontal lines between the news's, or maybe some sort of image along the left side, I dunno, just spice it up a little. Be careful not to overdo it or lose the style it has in the process.

Thank you all for your suggestions! I think that my next set of pages is going to be better than my first. I have tried to put an image along the right hand side (i.e. 1001001...) that kind of thing but resolution differences always comes into play.

I am going to use bunchapixels suggestion for using the animated *.gif c:\news thingy and Slimes suggestion of a vertical line between menu and news.

I will work on the side image. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can over come the resolution differences??? That has always been a problem for me. I don't necessarily want to make 5 different versions of the page.

Thanks again for all your help!

While I can appreciate use of white space, you're all right--it's too boring. I mean, CSS isn't something that precludes the usage of images. I suggest using some.
