Preserved Topic: How to design a Sig (sort of) (Page 1 of 1)

The big hip thing is the 88*31 sigs. I was wondering how you all went about designing these. They are very small, yet you can get a look of cool things going on in them. I am assuming that since there are only 2728 pixels to the entire thing that it would be more an exercise in pixel pushing.

I am looking for peoples processes to do them. Whatever you would be willing to give me would be appreciated.

I figure that this is basically an exercise in controlled sig creation. The size being the only limit.

Specifically, how would you design the sig so that it looks beautiful on your own site, with your choosen color scheme, yet looks good on anyone elses site, no matter what their color scheme is.

one thing i noticed is you use a 1px border. on the bottom of this page they are all white, except the asylum sig

be sure to save them as a .bmp such that file size is maximized.

No, seriously, like any other graphic, there isn't any set formula that makes it good. It's just practice.

Just a small terminology correction. Those small images are actually "buttons", not sigs...

so how do you create a sig or button then please help

Do you mean how technique-wise or artisticly- wise ?

Basicly, you want it to say something about you, including your name( or nick ), you want it to be pleasing to the eye, and relatively small ( dimensions and file size ).

Technique- wise, it`s a wide open field. Simple text effects to * My god, the psd has how many layers?

And it`s really easy to get opinions and constructive criticism around here. So put one together, post it , and we`ll rip it up..I mean help you make it better.
