Heh, I wish I could stop looking for a job and finish this I got laid off recently and I was very lazy with my demo reel while I was working. I should have had this done months ago, Cest La Vie. I just don't have the guts and courage to start my own company. And then there's that whole respibility thing... I just want to make things.

anywhoo he's taking longer than I like, but I'm trying out some new modeling techniques to keep the poly count down.

Update for the weekend. He's going to be fun to texture

Hey! That's cool electro. But Physics wise, how in the hel does he support a body weight that appears to be fairly large on one leg that is that thin? I may not be very good at oraganic modelling, but for realism, you have to think about supports and centres of gravity and whatnot.

Cool model BTW . More of a definition needed on the abdominals. Dowbn the middle I'm tlaking about, cause he looks like he's only got three, and for movements that involve torso twisting, thast wouldn't be possible.

hah yeah, I know what you mean, but I haven't done his legs yet. That's just his tail. Sorry I wasn't clear

He moves be crawling around, so his pelvis is going to be more like a dogs(that's why he has pads on his hands and fingers). I purposely gave him single segment abdominals, I think it looks more lizard like and less human (most of his abdominal contractions will be limited, not a lot of twisting needed).

Very cool. You got a pre-METAnurbed version we can see, I'm curious what the mesh looks like...

Sure, see if this works. http://people.mw.mediaone.net/jgreu/images/Stroth_Wire.jpg

It's a mess! I really love working in perspective view with Symmetry turned on.

SO in 6.5 can you actually edit stuff in the perspective view, as opposed to only being able to view stuff in it like in 5.0 (the only version of lightwave I have).

Yeah, you can do anything in the perspective view. Also you can have any viewport be any view, and any display type. I like to have my top 2 views perspective, the left a wireframe shade, the right a smooth shade. You can also set up indepentant zooms and colors and everything for a view port. It's really nice.

Oh, but to have to money to buy Lightwave 6.5.

Hey Electro...hows about a series of tutes for the GurusNetwork on character and organic modelling. Something a little more comprehensive than the others you see around.

I don't know how well that would work though, me doing tutorials. Everything is pretty arbitrary and I just move things where I htink they need to be. Tons of tweaking.
Maybe I can do a few time-lapse modeling videos. It'll have to wait until after I find another a job though

VERY cool man, thanks for the image. You're so making me want to upgrade to 6.5

Are you looking for a game/3D or web job, and are you looking around you? I actually know of a game company that's kinda up there, Illinois I think. Lemme know if you're interested, or drop me an e-mail (cfigat@yahoo.com).
