does anyone know where I can find a hi-res map of the earth that I could use to wrap around a sphere in Max?

I've got one I can lend you.

It's 6400x3200 jpg and 6.8 megs in size.

Prob is I don't know if I have the web space to up it ...
let me get back after I check it out.

might be able to zip it to compress but I am on a mac and this zip app I have is sometimes not all that great.

I can except emails that large if you have the power to send it...

I am limited to 1.5 megs for email attatchments

so let me check if I can up it to my cheap server........

if not you might want to download that and maybe it will compress it enough for me to email it.

I've got it and it totally is amazing....when was this taken? The north side of Africa is kinda sad to look at....so much sand it looks devastated.

If anyone else is interested in this Earth Map image to use as a
procedural texture I found a site that has the same image at about
half the resolution and a Bump map.

There are also a few more planet textures in the same file.
They are pretty good.The whole file is zipped at 3.5 megs
