Okay, this is the first model I did entirely on my own. I've had blender for about three days now and its growing on me.

I need some help getting rid of the jaggies in the image. The main hull is a sphere that I squashed into its general shape, but I can't seem to stop the texture from getting jaggies or the harsh gradients. I've upped the polys and smoothed it out to no end. If anybody has some blender knowledge, I could use some help.

As far as the image itself, I'm going to try doing some animation next so keep a look out for that.

Not a bad design...but

  1. The specularity/reflectiveness is WAY to high, reminds me of Babylon 5 ships.
  2. It doesn't make sense to have exposed piping in a space craft, micrometeorites would chew it to pieces, and you'd be leaking fuel from here to next sunday.

    AND
  3. Your bumpmap for getting those hull plates isn't sharp enough. The transition from black to white/gray should take place in about 6 pixels at the most. It's way to big on your, and so the edges of all the plates look rounded.

Other than that, not bad.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.

I figured out why the texture doesn't fade properly. I used a mesh instead of a curve for the hull, so the individual polygons will show up no matter what.

I'll work on the pipes and the bump map for the hull.

Thanx again.
