This isn't exactly program specific, but why would you want to add more than one camera to a scene?

I very rarely use more than one camera. Two uses:

'utility' cameras. These aren't used for rendering, but to look at something you'll be modifying often. You could anchor a camera to a character's face, for example, to aid in animating its expression. No matter where you moved the character, you could always switch view to the facecam to adjust the expression just so.

when animation is complex and you're going to do a couple of view changes. For example, you could have a camera following a path from the distance to the focus of the scene, then cut to another camera for the actual action in the scene. You wouldn't want to use the first camera, because it's locked to the path, and you want to be able to move it freely.

That said, I can't remember the last time I actually used more than one camera. My stuff is still too simple

Ahh, I see now. It all makes sense.

Usually, when I animate, I move the camera to get a better view of the frame, render it, then go back to the previous key frame to reset the camera position. That's so much easier.
