The orb thread seems to have eaten my post with this image *shrug*

This is a comparison of the Max default scanline renderer to Brazil, which is in public alpha. The left image is a sphere-on-a-plane that Boudga created, with the best settings for metal that I could find. The one on the right is the same image rendered in Brazil.

Notice the high quality shadows, especially in the lower left quadrant.

While the renderer is not optimized yet (still pretty early in alpha), it can be fun to play with. Definitely worth the download, if you have Max.

well, i got brazil, and it seems pretty cool it does global illumination and stuff. Thing is whenever i try to do a render max comes up with a this application has had a critical error [or something] message and then i can save it and it dumps me back to windows. Has anyone had this problem or am i alone stuck with an unstable p.c.
