In my few years of web making I've noticed this problem that always clash with my web design and always seem to go around it, but it's really on my nerves right now....

what is the minimum size of the length or width of a cell of a table... I'm trying to go as small as possible...

Probably zero pixels, plus the border. But you have to make sure you have no whitespace between the TD and /TD tags, like <td></td>.

but when i have it set at 1 pixel and previewed it under IE it looks like 3 pixels wide...
