I read a little bit on how the png format never got it's big break, and how major browsers don't even support it's best functions. Anyone can clarify on this one? |

It's just one of those web tragedies. If you've already read up on it, you already know -- widespread browser support would be a godsend to designers, because alpha transparency in a web graphic would open up huge new possibilities. But for no good reason (and there is literally no good reason, just a few limp ones), few browsers fully support it. |

Outside of the browsers issues.....the alpha functions of .psd's handle transparency better when imported into flash than the .gif extension. Using .png's with alpha channels can give you some nice FX with huge load times. |
