The simplest explanation is a man died and fell near a rock - its not like rocks are rare or anything. Cause and effect??

mmm... thats not a conundrum is it Bugs? *tuggs on ghotee* yah... I think I do. ha... I took a picture of my shadow the other day.

Today at school I was using some conundrums since we weren't really doing anything in Economics. I used a lot of the ones in the first thread and bug's A,B, & C question as well. And to my suprise they figured bug's out faster than I thought they would, or atleast they asked the right questions. Eventually I gave them the answere, they never got any of them correct, but we almost started to have a physics lesson instead of a 40 minuts of fun thanks to grumbles conundrum . Anyways, I have one for you. It is more of a logic question then a conundrum but I'll ask it anyways. So here it is:

Five suspects were rounded up in connection with a robbery. Their statements were as follows:

Alex: "Chris and Dave are lying."
Brad: "Alex and Eric are lying."
Chris: "Brad and Dave are lying."
Dave: "Chris and Eric are lying."
Eric: "Alex and Brad are lying."

Who is the only suspect we know with certainty to be lying?

and as you can see... Brad and Eric pointed right to Alex. I guess, Dave and Chris pointed to brad and eric... and alex pointed to dave and chris... so that makes alex the winner.

The liar must be Alex.

Everyone in the group calls two people liars. If you look at everyone except Alex, at least one of the two people named, name the person in question.

Example: Chris claims that Brad and Dave are lying. We see this is because Dave has named Chris as lying. Everyone denounces someone who has claimed them. Everyone except for Alex.

Alex: "Chris and Dave are lying."
Brad: "Alex and Eric are lying."
Chris: "Brad and Dave are lying."
Dave: "Chris and Eric are lying."
Eric: "Alex and Brad are lying."

Ok I've already established that alex isn't the liar, try someone else perhaps?

edit: seneca you are on the right track when you state everyone is denouncing the person who claimed them the liar but thats still incorrect, look at it really closely.

ah, Emps... Do I sense a fellow sasquatch?

Nimraw: Mine is so bad its got its own nickname (the Black Eagle) and a few months ago a friend took his holiday photos to work and no-one would even touch a picture of it (despite the fact I didn't even think it displayed the full horror). I'm in dire need of a shave and I caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror whilst getting into the shower and thought I was about to be attacked by a bear (which doesn't happen often around these parts). Last time I went this long without shaving I was mistaken for Chewbacca (but luckily I wasn't on a nudist beach).

But enough about me lets talk about bunchapixel's problem...

OK back to InSiDeR's problem we know it isn't Alex so I'm guessing its Brad (2 down and 3 to go - we should have this one solved in no time).
