Found this bit of information www.alternet.org/story.html?StoryID=12753 This just about blew my mind...I mean, I know what the military does in cases like this, but I wasn't aware that it goes clear through the entire intelligence-gathering community...kinda depressing, if you ask me.

Excellent! I have a friend who worked on the bovine growth hormone story, it must be close to 15 years ago now.
In fact I wouldn't doubt he was the one to 'first' break it. There's a whole lot I do not like about 'so-called' journalism of today but there are a few out there worth their salt. Mother Jones used to be very good... don't know if it still is or not...haven't looked at it in years. Any way great link.

Mother Jones is still very good...one of the best.
Z magazine, another favorite.

Could you give me the links for these sites? And how 'accurate' are they? This site is pretty good, when it comes to accuracy...

Mother Jones online
Z magazine online

Both are actually real, 3-d magzines...I suspect the content of their mag and their online presence differ slightly.

Z mag online is absolutely huge. Gigantic assortment of articles, 'watch groups', letters, studies, commentary, education, and links to other media (progressive and otherwise). It would take you days to simply read everything that has been added in say, the last month...not to mention what's there from years past.
The pages aren't pretty...but the navigation is pretty good.
Lots of contributions from many many many different people...journalists, authors, activist groups.
Though there are people who contribute often, there aren't what one would call 'staff writers' so the tone and nature of the articles tend to vary...IMHO a good trait in news media.

Mother Jones is a bit more 'traditional' in its approach as a magazine...though not necessarily in its content.

Hope you enjoy.
