ok... the idea is good , but I would try and get your matte a little closer to that of the forum background. (or fix the jaggies). Also I personally don't like the way the 'globs' (for want of a better word) have abrupt straight/hard edges at the border of the image. Maybe try and keep whole 'globs' within the boundary of the image. Would look heaps better imho.

As always, maybe everso slightly smaller in file size? mebbe?

But I do like the concept alot

Ok, thanks.

Regarding the size...well I tried every possible setting to reduce it but with no luck. Of course it's possible to reduce it but the quality then drops below acceptabel (grainy gif).

Anyone out there with an idea on how to smoothen the animation without adding more frames? (a miracle I suppose )

>edit> BTW. I use #2B0404 as matte. What should I use then?<edit<

Cheers

I don't know much about liquify, but maybe if you used more frames & smaller steps? obviously, that wouldn't help the filesize much....

BTW, this sig below was made with [filter>render>lighting effects], with two different heightmaps./ morphing into eachother.

Lightning morphing actually works better than liquify

Its really cool to play with...but darn the "optimized" sizes!

Uhm... what do you use as gif export? For some reason that doesn't look like imageready to me.

the rest is a good go in imageready.

Actually I think that would look nice if you did the transparency right.

Ok. Never thought of that.....don't ask

I used the liquify filter for the mitosis thing (hold down shift when you exit and load a new frame). Did some hand- brushing/smudging on the last frames to obtain the morph look (liquify just pushes the pixels when you reach a "cellmate").

beware of the outputsize! Smooth ani => many frames with little "liquify" =>
