The issue as I see it is with Applets embedded in webpages. This will effectively make applets an impractical solution for small web-served programs. Javascript is too hard to get to work across browsers (not that Java is great across platforms, but better than javascript), and server-side solutions don't allow for dynamic changes. |

bitdamaged - Very true, client-side Java is not it's best use, nor particularly impressive. However, there isn't really a better alternative |

Actually I think Flash can be a lot more effective than Java on the client side and provide a lot of the same results |
