Topic awaiting preservation: My WMP9 Skin now downloadable! (Page 1 of 1)

Hi everybody, my first skin is available for download from my newly created gallery at DeviantArt.

I hope you like it and you have some suggestions so I can learn from my mistakes.

It looks good. It's a bit too trendy and complicated for my tastes in Winamp skins, though.

You might work on the transparency a bit, and some of the edgey, blade-looking decor looks a bit tacky.

Other than that, good stuff

It's not Winamp.... As for the transparency... It is easy maths... Either you have 100 or no opacity... shadows or AA impossible .

It's a nice skin, but not really my style. I'm always disappointed in how hard it is to find a few good, clean, minimalistic skins for media players. With everyone adding more bells and whistles (sometimes literally), it makes me wonder whether that many people out there really dig the techno/grunge style.

Ah well, not that it matters, I have an aversion to WMP anyways. Winamp all the way!

Ahh, ok. I was under the impression that it was Winamp, as I don't know anyone that actually uses WMP And that would explain my transparency statement too, as I believe that Winamp 5 uses additive transparency (or something to that effect).

But, more crits: I agree with ozphactor. More is less, in a skin. It looks cool, but overall functionality suffers.

There is some decent wmp skins, such as the gorillaz one, but pale in comparison to many creative (and useful!) skins in winamp, usch as halo jones.

Sure, I didn't want to make myself a minimalstic skin. There will be a Winamp version I think, gotta look at the code first. I made it for myself and now it's Daily Deviation... Thanks for the comments again.
