The endlessly talented Jon Hicks, who recently produced the new Firefox icon, has also created a new icon for Mozilla Thunderbird. His blog entry gives insight into the design process, from concept sketches (by Stephen DesRoches) to the final rendering in Illustrator.

Once again, we should thank the Mozilla Visual Identity Team for their invaluable contributions to the Mozilla effort.
