doing a google on EYE4U I came upon this recent thread

here at the forums discussing eye4u.com and calling it a rip-off. Please have a brief look at this thread so that you know what this post is all about.

I never joined any discussion re. EYE4U before in the past 6 years, but now I decided to register here and post this message.

Well, you should know that this site was made in early 1998, firstly with Flash 2 and then Flash 3. Macromedia's site of the day was awarded June 26-28, 1998. You can check this stuff via the archive.org link in the thread mentioned above.

People like Gabo (Alberto Mendoza) and I -- and some others, of course, but you mentioned him and me -- were "pioneers" (not meant swanky) back then regarding Flash, and surely not ripping each other's work. In fact, our work has been ripped by others. We here at EYE4U have seen countless rip-offs in the past 6 years, of our "old" Flash site as well as other stuff we made. The sound of one of our intros was ripped more than 40 times alone, that is where we were informed of the ripped versions. And yes -- of course this site is pretty old stuff, no big deal after 6 years in the world of internet. We left it that way for "romantic" reasons. No need to discuss colors, navigation and stuff that was considered fancy back in 1998 with the knowledge of 2004, I guess

Don't get me wrong, just felt like giving some facts so that nobody spreads rumors without knowing any of the facts

I hope I picked the correct forum... but you know how newbies are in forums, never using the search button nor chosing the right forum for their thread
