I too found Paris extremely pretty and scenic.. ..fantastic if your a painter or visual artist. But at the same time extremely lonely and quite lacking in warmth. Many of my friends had the same experience of the city being quite stunning but locals being rather cold and unfriendly. I have dozens of French friends that have left Paris for good and have a sour taste of that city. I didn't like Paris at all. Now Rome or Barcelona?.. that's a whole other story...
