I am about to go back to school for six weeks, and I am looking to get a laptop for the time. It seems like a large waste to move my server for only six weeks, especially because school has a firewall that wouldn't allow incoming connections.

This makes me want something portable, i.e. a laptop. I am however financially deprived, and have a budget of between 300 and 400 dollars. I have seen many places online that would sell decent laptops in this price range, but I don't know how reliable these sources would be.

Does anyone have experience with an reputable used laptop dealers?

You can get great re-conditioned laptops from Dell Computers. I have always been completely satisfied with their stuff.

Well I have always bought brand new machines Direct from Dell when in the States but my brother is about to get a re-con Dell from the UK. I know Dell do them directly too and just emailed them to get details and some links in the States for you being closer to home.. I'll get back to you as soon as..

I would see about a 90day warranty... 13 weeks will give you a buffer you can live with. If that is not available at least make sure you get 30 days. Anyone not willing to warantee for 30 days is probably trying to sell you a "pig in a poke".

I'm not sure what a "pig in a poke" is, but i know I dont want one... LOL.
