hey inmates,

im not really into music, but ya know i like to listen to it. (who doesnt?) well anywho i basically dont really have any taste in music. lol. i only listen to whatever sounds good to me, so i dont really favor one band/singer over another or one type of music over another. i just listen to whatever has a cool tune.

so im making a cd with some songs i like, so far i have like, 3 songs cause i cant find anything i really like.

Death Metal is things like Dimmu Borgir. Just felt like sayin' that

Am i the only person (along one of my friends) that can't stand Dark Tranquility at all?

How come you don't have Schism in your fav list?! It must be! DAMMIT, YOU KNOW IT MUST!!! (sorry, I just love that song)

I like Dark Tranquility a lot, melodic death metal is own.

Schism isn't on my list, its not one of my favs, I can play the song though, and it is a good tune. But Aenima was a much better disc in my opinion.

Yeah, I can't stress this enough, mp3s and CD burning are seriously ruining music. The only bands that can survive now-a-days are the ones who go straight to record labels from their conception. And those are usually the shittiest bands. The ones who are REALLY suffering from CD Burning/mp3s are the small bands who are just starting out and the ones who haven't made it big yet. And those are the best bands, support local music!

Pantera- any song
I grew up listening to them they used to play the local bars around here.
PigFish tho you will prolly never find a song by them. Another local band, since split up. They kicked ass.
If you do happen to find a song let me know. They were on radio and had a few albums.

if you want to hear about some kickass local music, I'm from alabama and there's a band called Adelayda from birmingham, al. they are really REALLY good, you can find their cd all across the southeast and prolly purchase a copy from their website : http://www.adelayda.com. check them out, they rock.

[edit]I download music, too, but mostly soon to be released stuff, like I have a copy of breaking benjamin's upcoming album "We Are Not Alone"
but keep in mind, as soon as it comes out (june 29 if you'd like to know) I'm headed to the record store to pick up a copy
SUPPORT YOUR BANDS PEOPLE!
remember, if we don't buy the album, they will have to tour all year round to make ends meet and won't get the time to make new music[/edit]

the small bands are unknown and hence unlikely to be pirated. on the flip side of the coin small bands can reach the largest audience in the world, the net, if they use the internet properly. there are dozens of music services on the net which allow new bands to make it without being ripped off.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've bought at least half-a-dozen CDs based on songs I downloaded. There are several more I'm considering right now.

Mp3s are neither good nor bad but thinking makes them so, to paraphrase someone.

As for my favorite songs... I'll have to think some more about that.

Evil in theory, not so much in practice...
