Hey all, there is a contest for resident evil 2 moive poster, worth checking out.. here is the link..

I'd like the challenge, so i made one , i don't think i will send it, it's not quiet good but here it is... took me 5 hs.
I know , i'm too slow...

I like your poster. You might want to try brightening up the middle picture. There's no contrast in the image. Why not submit it? What have you got to lose?

well that's it, i don't like loosing , so i might as well not partisipate....gives me lack of confidence.
I looked at it the other day and i saw a Hindi Bollywood moive poster, it need kinda that moiveposter something, sure i'll add the contrast, but it still lackes....

Dear God, man. Please tell me you're not going to go through life like that.

You'll probably get a bunch of good ideas from people here (who are more graphically talented than I am). Wait around for a bit, put the ideas to use, and submit the poster. Please. For me, at least, if that will make you feel better.

anyways i think there should be some METHODS for a moive poster to achive a good, attracting , artistic look.

How the heck do you create a poster like that? It's pretty good (nice work there)...it's the multiple faces/images on the one background I can't figure out...

Armen - Looks good, but for RE2, my idea would be to put Nemesis silhouethe (sp?). It'd look a bit scarier than Mila Jovovich . Nemesis is on the RE2 movie, right?

I have not seen the flim though, I'm just perusing through the images now to select some that I feel may work together. I suppose a viewing of the film might be useful, but I don't think I will.

Nemesis silhouethe : you mean the guy with a long coat and has a machine gun / torch gun?
Actually i was thinking of doing that and probably color it black so as if a light is hitting him from behind
but there wasn't any good pictures for that purpuse to do that, Like i'm saying it's like makeing game with limited qualities but with good outcome..... but i'll try and post it friday.

An advise DON"T even think of watching the moive....The first one was a huge mistake , the second i assume will be the second huge mistake....

Armen: I like what you've done but I feel it needs more focus and more of a horror feel.

aren't very inspiring but they do have more of a movie poster feel. In yours I see a lot of pictures put together but no fee and no narritive. In fact it could be a poster for just about anything: a romantic comedy, a whacky comedy, soft porn, etc.

I can't tell you what to do but the changes I'd make would be to have the undead silhouette slightly higher sort of framing the name of the film. I'd keep the picture of the guy but get rid of the pictures of her and possibly use a more action image of her on the other side (firing off to the right) e.g.:

and then have this guy looming in the background between them:

Granted its more of a conventional movie poster but in some ways that is what they are looking for and it has action, narritive and some tension

Hell if I didn't suck so badly with PhotoShop............

Tao i like what u did, but it feels too empty and mine WAY to much full.. try adding bloody kinda effects , you know like distressed lines and stuff... but i like the idea

Armen: Excellent improvements - I like the first of the two as the seocnd looks a little too 'murky' for a film poster. However, the balance seems wrong - there is too much hapening at the top and not much at the bottom. I'd drop the title to the positon you had it in the first one you did and possibly get rid of one of the Jovovich images.

It is looking like a contender though

I love Taos, it's CLASSIC........makes me proud to be in asylum ....this is too much i think i'm gonna cry.

Armen, I really like your version with the highest contrast (the 3rd I think). I would submit it maybe and what do you think, shall i try some, too? (is noob)

Gosh I'd forgotten all about this. pacinos_way, I think what you have done is nice.
For me it does not work too well as a poster, it seems a bit like two posters of differing styles on top of each other. There again, I know nothing of designing posters
I wish you well with the contest though.
